School of Engineering
Increasing progress in different fields brings with it the need to learn and develop new technologies. Technical and engineering disciplines are a set of science branches that offer techniques and methods for applying the theoretical concepts to various sectors of society, industry, economics, etc. The School of Engineering at Damghan University was instituted to accomplish the important missions of serving Iran’s need for technical and engineering specialists and producing knowledge in various technical and engineering fields. As such, the school trains students on knowledge, principles and methods necessary for their future job positions and educational directions by nurturing their mind and promoting engineering skills and research motivation in them. The research objectives of the school are to create the necessary context and appropriate space for collaborative research, increase the quality of scientific production, encourage innovation, and foster creativity.
With the approval from Iran’s Council of Higher Education Development in 2010, Damghan University was authorized to institute its School of Engineering and admit undergraduate students in the majors of Software Engineering and Industrial Engineering, starting from second semester of the 2010-2011 academic year. Currently, the School of Engineering approximately has 1,050 undergraduate students under five departments: Department of Computer Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, and Department Mechanical Engineering. The labs, workshops and computer sites in the school are all equipped with necessary educational, research and software facilities for use by students and faculty members.
