Statistics is a decision-making science that is useful for managers at all ranks, and its subject of inquiry is the scientific application of mathematics in order to better understand the world. For example, the development of inferential statistics along with the development of data collection and analysis methods has had important applications for a wide range of science branches such as biology, economics, management, engineering, medicine, public health, psychology, marketing, education and sports. On the other hand, the field of probability has had significant theoretical applications for science branches such as physics, communication, quality control, transportation, aerospace, financial mathematics, stock market analysis and economics. As such, it can confidently be claimed that there is no limit to applying statistics in science. Thus, students of statistics can pursue their education in many other fields and exhibit their skills and abilities in those fields.
